The drive is not compatible as advertised

I have tried to install exactly as described in the videos for my 2009 desktop but I keep getting a white screen with a folder of files and a question mark. I'm trying to mount the drive to see if I need to reformat it and despite all the troubleshooting, buying new external mounting cables etc. I can't see the drive on any of my computers at all. I'm wondering if I have a defect or if it's no longer compatible with these models and it's been frustrating to find out for weeks - now this week…

Pros
  • OWC 2 year limited warranty
Cons
  • Some errors

Complete Kit and Video Instructions

OWC did a really good job creating the hardware and video instructions to complete this update. Worked as described, including special tools and plug connections. My advice is to be prepared to reinstall the operating system. I was not. I recommend having a USB flash drive with the version of OS X you want to boot to format the drive and complete the installation.

Pros
  • Compatibility with 2009-2010 iMacs
Cons
  • Minor Issues

Installation late 2009 = white screen; Tech support not helpful

I bought this for a 2009 27" iMac (it seemed compatible on the OWC website and Revain description. I formatted the drive with an external mount and tried loading the original installation disk to install the operating system before restoring from a Time Machine backup but I couldn't get past the white screen. After spending a lot of time online Looking for other suggestions I can find this post someone shared: Your iMac has a SATA II interface, 3 gigabytes per second SanDisk is SATA III, 6…

Pros
  • Capacity - 4.0TB
Cons
  • Not all will fit
