Didn't work for what I needed for

Didn't fit what I needed it for (bleaching wood) and I didn't realize how dangerous it was to handle! I think this product should be highlighted on a warning label, especially since I have to dispose of and recycle it at a chemical waste facility.

Pros
  • hundreds of home, garden, lab, industrial and commercial uses!
Cons
  • Slightly dented

I bought this to remove rust from hand tools (sockets, screwdrivers, etc.). While there's nothing wrong with oxalic acid and there's enough in the bottle to make lots of large batches of acid, I was surprised that soaking tools in vinegar overnight was better at removing rust.

Pros
  • Kitchen and bathroom fixtures, bathtubs, surfaces in and around the house
Cons
  • thin

Removed rust stains from quartz countertop.

Our beautiful white quartz kitchen countertop had a rust stain from a steel jug. Neither vinegar nor bleach nor a citric acid solution will spoil it. However, two teaspoons of oxalic acid dissolved in half a cup of warm water, applied with a sponge and left for 30 minutes was enough. The stain has completely disappeared. I use the remaining 1.99 pounds of oxalic acid dissolved in water to lighten the bare topwood in the spring.

Pros
  • 99.6% pure. Reusable container with childproof lid. Made in the USA
Cons
  • No Productivity
