Two Decades Ahead

This was my first can opener. I bought it over 21 years ago and basically had a fit when it started to fail in the last 6 months. Reluctantly ordered a replacement. I was optimistic when I saw that the same model is still available over two decades later. Of course, I expected today's version to be of poor quality. But. It's really great! I'm so happy.

Failure after 4 months

It was great while it lasted. I liked easy to open jars after my Kitchenaid killed my hands when it was out of date. It did not last long. A few days ago I tried to open the jar and it completely damaged the lid and wouldn't open fully. I had to bend one side of the lid to get the overcooked beans out. It was, of course, a little more expensive than the cheaper models we'd bought before. However, very little energy was required to open the jar. My wife has a physical…

Makes previously tedious work easy and painless

First of all. details about me. I have fibromyalgia. It makes some simple things more painful than they should be. like opening jars :) With my previous can opener I would have been afraid to make sauce because huge jars of tomatoes would hurt my hands a lot. Well, I would do it, but I wouldn't be happy with it and I might put off the work because I don't want to have cramps/pain in my arms. Also, I was too stingy to buy a new can opener. One day my old manual can opener broke/die/stuck so I…
