🔪 OXO Good Grips 3-Piece Set of Assorted Prep Y-Peelers Review

This was on my wish list a while ago and I was just waiting for my current Y peeler to break. But then I couldn't wait any longer and bought it. No regrets, I exfoliate so gently all the time that I have to make sure I'm careful every time I exfoliate something else, it's going to be my skin!

They fit my hand perfectly and are very easy to use. The straw knife has sharp, serrated teeth that can cause damage if handled carelessly. I have seen other products that have a protective case but this is not the case. My first use of a straw peeler was for carrots and it produced a beautiful julienne perfect for salad.

If you've enjoyed a fruit/vegetable peeler, this is it. I love the straw peeler, it works great with carrots. Caution: Both the textured red peeler and the orange julienne peel are razor sharp. razor sharp. I've cut my fingertips more times than I can count. Keep a few patches with you until you get used to them. That being said, I use them daily with far fewer injuries.

I needed to replace a favorite knife that was wearing out after 40 years of use. I have carpal tunnel syndrome and some activities like peeling vegetables can be physically demanding for me at times. Other peelers I've tried put too much pressure on my wrist making the task almost impossible. They are very easy to use and comfortable to hold and the extra sharp blades get the job done perfectly. I highly recommend them.

To be honest I was disappointed when I first received and opened them because they are so much smaller than I expected. I decided to go ahead and try them out since I had them in my possession. So far I've only used a regular vegetable peeler, but this is an amazing little tool! Much easier to hold than a traditional vegetable peeler, it quickly peels potatoes and sweet potatoes. I have carpal tunnel syndrome and using regular scrubs is painful. it didn't bother me one bit. Highly Recommended!

I wanted to try this Y blade after seeing videos of similar products. I've generally had good experiences with other Oxo products I've used. While I intend to continue using these cleaners, I can't yet say that I see any benefit over regular cleaners. They have to be held at a very precise angle to work well and the proximity of the blade to your fingers feels a little dangerous because you accidentally cut your fingers, which I did within minutes of use.

These knives are easy to hold. I've used a few serrated knives over the past few years, but these are the little plastic pieces that are very cumbersome to hold and use. They are very comfortable, durable and serve their purpose perfectly. More and more often when I look for kitchen cookware, I find that OXO is simply the best. This set gets the job done in 2 seconds. I've used my regular Oxo Straight Peeler in a number of ways and thought this versatile set would be better suited to a variety of vegetable shapes. BUT: I found the Y shape dangerous, it's too easy to shave the palm for starters. I've been cleaning for many years but maybe the Y shape isn't for me, I wish they just made potato peelers which were more versatile. Tried several times, not worth the risk.
