It cuts through hard sorbet like soft butter. I can not believe that! Heavy enough to be durable but light enough to be comfortable. I can not believe that. Honestly. I rarely write reviews, but this sensation cannot be ignored.

Works great, even with ice straight from the freezer! Easy to use and I have tendon problems in my dominant hand. So I'm very glad I replaced the one I was fighting with with this one! No need to run it under hot water first, it draws great!

I like this better than I thought. It's heavier than the silicone scoop I used. Ice cream doesn't stick like some said or I thought. I don't use warm water either. Works great. I hand wash them and let them air dry. I had it for about a month or so.

This replaced an old aluminum Bridgman bucket that worked very well but was badly corroded. This oxo shovel is very high quality - no complaints; but with my slight rotator cuff injury I can't use it at all. Our heavier family members (males) don't like this stylish scoop (I'm guessing they want bigger portions) so it's not used in our drawer. Too bad I didn't send it back.

I haven't found an ice cream scoop that really holds up, but maybe this is it. It's a hefty piece with a matte finish that doesn't seem to chip or peel like the shinier shovels do. The grip isn't ideal for small hands, but it's not the worst I've tried. Scooping performance is so-so, but it works. Soaking in a bowl of hot water makes ice cream easier to cut.

Oxo's design is unconventional and resembles the Baskin & Robbins spoon. Very durable construction, easy to hold and use. For me, it worked best with ice cream that wasn't frozen very hard but tended to have a softer texture. It is easy to clean by hand. I do not put it in the dishwasher as it is not needed for a thorough cleaning. Good price for what it does. I should also mention that the final size of the scoop is small, but big enough for a medium sized cone.

I bought this shovel to replace the one that scared me. Apparently it wasn't dishwasher safe. The finish was instant and the metal underneath reminded me too much of lead to risk. This is a much higher quality product. It sounds silly to describe a scoop of ice cream like that, but when it comes to food processing, I wouldn't risk it. It's very strong.
