OXO SteeL Ice Bucket Tongs Review

Like many other OXO products, well designed. Lightweight, great tongs, everything I need is in an ice bucket and I've been buying for a while.

This is the best ice bucket we've tried, with a recess in the bottom to catch melt water, great tongs and enough insulation to last several hours.

10 hours after filling, the bucket is still full of ice (see pictures). I was expecting it to be a bit larger as it is one of the largest sizes. It looks like a regular sized ice bucket, but it holds most of the ice in our freezer basket. The lid flips up for added convenience.

Great design. Ice stays frozen for more than 12 hours. I wish I had ordered this 30 years ago instead of a glass ice bucket that melts ice in 3 hours! Comes with ice tongs that fit on the side of the bucket. I will be giving this as a wedding gift along with a bottle of good liquor for two weddings this year.

I was happy to find a 5 liter bucket so I ordered it straight away for a party. The handle is so sharp on the edges that I seriously feared cutting my hand. The smoked acrylic lid is cloudy and has scratches and stains. I thought maybe it has a transparent plastic protective cover that needs to be removed, and then it's clear - no! Just a mess. I returned it immediately. For $50 and from OXO I expected better quality, very disappointed.

I was looking for an ice bucket that would fit into any interior that my cats couldn't tumble off the shelf and smash. They broke some pretty plastic. Most of the ones I found were beautiful but too idiosyncratic for a specific venue or type of party. This one is perfect for my multipurpose needs and strong enough to withstand my cats climbing my storage shelves. This is used at summer barbecues and family dinners on Christmas Eve.

I removed the star because it appeared to have scratches on the plastic rim likely caused during the manufacturing process, but for $50 or more I wasn't expecting any flaws. I couldn't return it in time to get a replacement for the party so I just kept it. Otherwise he did a good job.

Really? The size of this bucket is good and big. I'm not even against plastic - I'm for utility, not whimsical and brilliance. But every time I lift the lid, it falls off. What a problem! I thought it was broken but no! The lid is arranged in such a way that it does not hold. I bought this because I like the idea of NOT removing the lid and finding a place for it while I get the ice cube. Now when I open it I have to find a place for the lid and THEN put it back on to close it! she goes back…

Ideal for your mobile bar. Holds almost the entire 7 lb bag (small bag) of ice out of the Grocery store or gas station and keeps the ice cream on the kitchen counter cool at room temperature to easily survive an evening party. It's great to have pre-made drinks (like sangria or margarita) in your "beverage line" so guests can treat themselves to an ice cream and then refill it at your beverage station.
