Using Pachyderm for containerised analytics

The UI feels very intuitive to use, we can easily configure pipelines with multiple steps using docker compose files. It's easy to integrate it in other applications like Jenkins or any CI/CD system as well. We're able to store our data directly into S3 without managing additional file systems which makes things easier than if you were storing your pipeline jobs on GCP storage buckets (like Google Cloud Storage). Also I really appreciate how they've made all their code available under Apache 2…

Pros
  • Very fast
  • Easy integration between different tools.
  • Scales horizontally for free,
  • Ability not only do run containers locally while developing projects , Integration possibilities through Docker Compose configuration scripts is amazing!, Open source project that has been built mostly during weekends : )
Cons
  • Not enough documentation around deployment options,
  • Lack basic knowledge required building complex deployments

Great solution for getting visibility and control over big datasets

I like how easy it was to get up-and running, without any significant training or understanding of what's going into this software stack! It really makes sense out in front with your users by providing dashboards through their browser (or mobile app). The UI could use some more attention -- things are sometimes hard to find when you're looking at them from afar rather than being right there next to something interesting! If they can keep working towards making pachypodium even easier/more…

Pros
  • Simplicity
  • Ability for nontechnical people who don't know much about IT infrastructure.
  • Great support provided during onboarding experience / installation process
Cons
  • Not the best

Easy-to Use Platform - Scale Computing

I really like how it can be used with different sources such as databases, file systems etc.. It's also possible to use R or Python in addition of other languages which makes my jobs easier while working with data analysis projects using this software. The only thing about pachy dermel is that sometimes during tests some times there will appear error logs but all works fine at end (sometimes errors are not detected). As my work needs me to perform big data analyses daily I have been able to do…

Pros
  • Also its very good integration test framework built into pipeline workflows where every step/job run gets stored automatically under $HOME/.pachdairam folder making sure one has complete visibility through history viewpoints even from CLI mode itself !!! :).Great product!
  • Takes much less learning curve than kubectl / helm compared earlier
Cons
  • Mostly okay, but...
