These neon lights are handcrafted and use 2 AA batteries each. The length is great even for two words - I removed the clear plastic tip to make threading through the canvas easier and it was easy to put back on when I was done. My only complaint is that I bought a set of all the colors pictured, specifically purple and green - instead of purple I got two oranges. If you're not picky about the color this is a great deal for 7.

The cable is nice and bright, bends easily and works without damage. However, power adapters are bullshit. They were very easy to use. Each color comes with its own battery. I used them to make signs for Halloween. They bent slightly and formed words for my signs. They were very bright and lasted all night with no problems. The only real problem I could see is that you can't string them back to back. Do not confuse with LED strips. They are mainly polyfiber optics with a high dispersion coating in different colors. As such, it's nowhere near as bright as an LED strip, but works well in dark places. It's easier to control than an LED strip, and if you're familiar with DIY techniques, you could probably replace the "original" LED with a much brighter one to increase the overall brightness.
