The zippers are sewn on at the ends and it's very easy to break the single thread holding the two ends of the zipper together, allowing you to pull the tab right off the zipper. I did this with two dice, which also means they no longer work. On the way I fixed them for quite a while with copper cables I scavenged from the street and tied the ends together to prevent this. I have purchased several packaging cubes from other companies and they are worth every penny. Some cubes claim to be "waterproof" but have a mesh screen to easily see what you've packed, so it's pathetic and disappointing when they arrive - not these cubes; There is no mesh at all so they don't let water through easily. A well made quality product that is less than half the price of comparable Eagle Creek compression cubes. It is very light and compresses well when not overloaded. Note that it's fully padded (like the regular Eagle Creek compression cubes, but not the newer textured cubes). So if you try to pack too many clothes in, you will end up with a large bulge in the middle that is almost the same size as the uncompressed product.
