Magnets don't hold.

Well made and works but the magnets are so weak the pads slide around all over the place and fall off too easily compared to the soft pads I have.

Need an extra magnet.

These are much easier to work with than trying to hold an object and inserting wooden spacers between the jaws. However, it would be better if they had at least one more magnet so that they are better adapted to different jaw configurations.

Appearances are deceptive. Incorrect assembly/assembly method.

As other people have pointed out, magnets are so weak they're practically useless. The rubber inserts are embedded in dovetail aluminum and held together with double-sided tape with very low holding power. I replaced the tape with a better one, but even then the inserts have an awkward habit of falling out (see photo, this is after replacing the tape). Most vises are full inch sizes (3", 4", 5", etc.) but they decided to cut them down to 5.5". I cut them to fit my 5" bench vise. The aluminum…
