As other people have pointed out, magnets are so weak they're practically useless. The rubber inserts are embedded in dovetail aluminum and held together with double-sided tape with very low holding power. I replaced the tape with a better one, but even then the inserts have an awkward habit of falling out (see photo, this is after replacing the tape). Most vises are full inch sizes (3", 4", 5", etc.) but they decided to cut them down to 5.5". I cut them to fit my 5" bench vise. The aluminum case is fairly durable but with other downsides. I won't recommend it. Edit: I replaced the double sided tape with epoxy and now the rubber inlay is holding, though it didn't help the miserable magnets.
