Good value lens

Good medium focal length, medium aperture zoom lens, really can't complain as you get a solid lens for the price, but I'd prefer the zoom. be a little smoother for video work. If smooth zoom isn't that important to you, then this lens is what you're paying for.

Very impressive whale lens!

I've never owned a more impressive kit lens. Extremely sharp at all apertures. Possibly the fastest focusing lens I've ever used. Compact and light. Looks beautiful. -IS/AF is mute (good for video) -Comes with lens hood and middle clip cap. Yes, the aperture is slow and the zoom range isn't great, but for generally good lighting, this lens will make you smile.

Very disappointed: lenses

I bought this from the Revain e-cart. It arrived in a white box instead of the original Panasonic lens packaging. There was no cover on the back of the lens, no instruction manual, no warranty/registration card. These questions seemed very strange. The main reason I returned it was that the seven-leaf diaphragm was oval/trapezoidal rather than round. What I also don't like is that there is no guarantee on the lens.

New champion for KIT lenses

I bought this lens during a trip to Japan to replace my Olympus 12-50mm. The lens is nice, smaller than the Panasonic 14-45mm, the rear mount is plastic. The Pana 14-42 II is lightweight but looks solid. Autofocus is fast, but not as fast as the Pana 25mm 1.4; However, it is as fast as the Pana 14-45mm. Image quality is very good, very sharp with wide open shots and maximum zoom. I had Olympus 14-42, 12-50, Pana 14-45, Pana 20 1.7, Pana 25 1.4. I haven't had much time with Olympus 14-42 and…
