Good medium focal length, medium aperture zoom lens, really can't complain as you get a solid lens for the price, but I'd prefer the zoom. be a little smoother for video work. If smooth zoom isn't that important to you, then this lens is what you're paying for.

I've never owned a more impressive kit lens. Extremely sharp at all apertures. Possibly the fastest focusing lens I've ever used. Compact and light. Looks beautiful. -IS/AF is mute (good for video) -Comes with lens hood and middle clip cap. Yes, the aperture is slow and the zoom range isn't great, but for generally good lighting, this lens will make you smile.

I bought this from the Revain e-cart. It arrived in a white box instead of the original Panasonic lens packaging. There was no cover on the back of the lens, no instruction manual, no warranty/registration card. These questions seemed very strange.
