Great phone - bad batteries

I have had a base unit and 1 remote unit for about 2 years. This is absolutely the best phone system I have ever had. I wanted to add a third phone so I ordered this phone. Like everything else in this phone system, I plugged it in, it set itself up, and I started working. However, Panasonic batteries are terrible. When they fail, they fail completely. Buy Eveready batteries and keep them in a drawer so you'll be ready when the original batteries fail after a year or so. I will buy good…

There is a class action lawsuit for this model range

I bought the base station and two handsets 2 years ago and one of the handsets stopped working completely after 1.5 years. After a year we replaced the batteries in all the phones, but one of the phones ran out of power very quickly (we charged for 6 hours and the charge took 10 minutes) and then stopped working. A class action lawsuit is pending against the KXTG and KXTC series in New Jersey, and the law firm is requiring any consumer, regardless of state, having issues with these models to…

Nice but expensive - Office Electronics

This is a good phone and works well with our VOIP setup - remodeling the house was a hassle. The range seems good enough - the base station is in the basement and easily covers the two main floors and the yard outside. Good quality. There are some minor issues: - After a year the battery life is poor and when the battery is low the phone reports that it cannot connect to the base station. Replacement Energizer ER-P511 (Note - keep an eye on them as the price can range from $4 to $12). Seems…

The best phones you can buy. even after so many years!

I've seen phones come and I've seen phones go. And this Panasonic phone goes on and on. We'd had our phone and base station for probably 6 years when we decided to prepare to lose our local phone company and put our home number on a cell phone bundle. The problem is that there is only ONE connection on the telephone adapter! This meant we had to get rid of the other wired phones in the house and add two more identical phones to our existing base station. Just the fact that they cost over $100…

Great phone, features; easy setup - short battery life

I bought a couple of these units to expand my KX-TG5100 base unit. Setup was easy, as was phonebook syncing. The tubes are identical to those supplied with the base unit. I've found hands-free calling on phones to be a great feature. I also like the simplicity of the user interface. The batteries that come with the devices are terrible and will not hold a charge after six months; However, I found the Energizer ER-P511 to be a great battery replacement for the Panasonic P-P511 that comes out of…
