The pH meter flickers a little

I have been using this product for over a year now. The TDS meter is exceptional, it does what it's supposed to do and gives very accurate and consistent readings. However, the PH meter never stays at the set PH value after the initial calibration. I don't know if it should be or not, but I can't believe the results from this PH meter.

Pretty decent overall

This counter appears to work well and is fairly accurate. The only problem I have with this meter is that I have to buy a pH calibration powder mix to calibrate it. With my previous meter, the calibration could be adjusted manually with a small screw on the back of the meter while you immersed it in a solution that was already adjusted to a specific pH for calibration purposes. If anyone knows of a way to calibrate this meter using just one or both of the PH 4.0 and PH7.0 solutions please let…

Good quality. Excellent price. I would recommend!

A pH tester needs calibration that failed the high and low test. It was only able to calibrate to the upper set point but seems still close compared to the liquid pH test kit. My only concern is that my PH is in a good range, and for that, shooting between 5 and 7 is great. The TDS meter appears to be working well and both appear to be quality devices. I don't think you can beat them for the price. I would recommend if you are not after more accuracy you might want a larger flow meter but on a…

  • Nothing here

Nonsense - don't screw up the calibration.

Calibration does not work as instructed. You can't do a quick tap to determine what pH solution you're using like the instructions say. It attempts to determine the solution status automatically. First, like I said, I did 6.86 and it's calibrated to 4.01. Then I did 4.01 and it doesn't calibrate at all as now it thinks 4.01 is like 2.0 so it just throws an error. From that point on, you're out of luck. A solution of 9.18 is calibrated to 6.86. You could probably fix this if the device actually…

SOS: It is not calibrated!

I read some negative reviews and thought some people didn't follow the instructions well, I'll try. I have followed the instructions for the tee and I am unable to calibrate this PH meter. I've been waiting to get my hydroponic garden installed and now it's too late to bring it back. It's calibrated to 6.86 but when I went to step 2 to calibrate to 4.01 it showed 6.86 again. I waited a while for it to drop to around 4 (from 3.98 to 4.04 but it never really showed 4.01) and thought that was it…

Conductivity versus TDS This meter uses a fixed 2:1 math equation.

While most handheld meters use the conductivity measurement (microsiemens per centimeter) to calculate Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), most mid-range meters use an algorithm specific to the components present in the water. The equation or ratio can vary widely from 0.55 to 0.80. This meter uses a fixed equation of 0.50 regardless of contamination in the sample water; The presence of organic, metallic or mineral elements in the water creates a large variable in the calculation of TDS. The…

Cons
  • Crumpled Packet

The TDS meter is accurate (I can reproduce my results over time) and probably accurate. I compared the performance of my tap water (currently hovering around 16ppm) to the performance of a fresh ZeroWater filter (it shows 0ppm). Please note that I do not have the laboratory equipment to substantiate this. I also don't have a standardized TDS test fluid. It is not surprising that the TDS meter performs well. Most TDS meters have 2 electrodes and possibly a thermistor. They are easy compared to…

Cons
  • Not sure

Wow, English isn't their first language!

Here's my update for everyone: After studying China a bit, everything is metric and Celsius so we just have to translate. So yes, 25 meant 25°C, so (25*9)/5+32=77°F. However, it said that it automatically compensates for temperature. NO. My well water is glacier temp when it comes out and the readings from this device are the same regardless of the temperature. So I found out that I need to bring the water to room temperature. So I top it up in the morning or the night before and leave it on…
