Transparency and elongation?

Among other things, he would like to appreciate transparency and elasticity. Well, it's not very transparent and you can't stretch it at all. The two wires going to my radio's FM antenna terminals (the two wires on this antenna) are quite thin. They usually only last a few weeks. (Maybe I'm trying to stretch them too far and don't understand how "transparent" they are?

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • A few little things

Exceeded Expectations

I have a stereo in my garage surrounded by oak trees. Reception was very poor, even with strong signals for twenty miles. It made the one crystal clear and others that I like, but usually I have to be about twenty miles closer before my car picks up the signal. It picks up signals incredibly well. But that's for a few bucks before you try shark fin or others that cost over $25.

Pros
  • Fits Many
Cons
  • Anything I can add

The antenna received good signals in our remote area and works well.

Now that Radio Shack is up, Parts Express is a great place for small electronic components and parts. I have made several purchases from them both direct and through Revain. Good price, fast service and everything works great. It's a fairly basic component, but I've also bought small amps and speakers and they all seem nice and efficient to use.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • boring packaging

I'm amazed at accessories and consumables

I connected this antenna to my old Pioneer SX 1280 receiver in my basement. I attached the cable as high as possible on the outside wall, meaning it attaches to the wall near the basement ceiling. I'm shocked that I now have many stations with full or near full signal and many stations with good enough signal to be in stereo and have no background noise. That's partly because the tuners in those old receivers are very, very good. Probably better than anything done today, but still I only got…

Pros
  • even old fashioned
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Bring an old analogue receiver back to life

Great little antenna. I have an old analog AM/FM tuner, receiver, amplifier in the basement. I used a makeshift antenna and picked up a couple of stereo FM channels with pretty poor fidelity. I switched to this antenna and it picks up VHF channels like it did then, the signal strength is really good and the antenna is still underground in the basement. FM stereo sound on both the old receiver and the new digital receiver. This antenna requires you to "spread your wings" in order for it to work…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

Good for this purpose if the FM stations are strong enough.

Only use in an area with a good signal. Even if your house is made of turned stucco, if you can't place an antenna in the attic, don't expect great results. The antenna on most FM table radios is built into the power cord. Sometimes it is difficult to organize the cable so that all channels can be received. If you have an external antenna connector (pan head screws or F-connector), make sure the impedance matches. This is a 300 ohm antenna so you may need a balun to match the 300 ohm antenna to

Pros
  • Economical
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Traditional FM dipole, works well

I recently dug up an old 2 channel stereo receiver for office use and needed an FM antenna for it. Rather than using a fancy amplified antenna that has to sit on a shelf, I remembered from my youth the good old dipole VHF antennas that you taped away behind a bookshelf. In my case an unamplified dipole is enough as I live in a metro area and I just want to tune in to a few local classic rock stations. I'm not interested in very bad radio reception. While I probably have some of my dipoles from…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember
