Great for small cats/kittens

I recently had a kitten and as he was getting more playful I decided it was time to buy a scratching post. I didn't want anything too big because the little kitty had to stay in my only bedroom for the time being. This scratching post was the perfect size. I think it was a bit overpriced compared to some similar ones I've seen in outlet stores (housewares/marshalls, tj maxx) but overall it does the job and my cat loves it.

cheap cheap cheap

My 6 week old kittens have been playing it for 8 days now and it's already looking shabby. It was cheap so I got what I paid for. I'll probably throw it away in a month or two. I don't expect it to last much longer. The kittens love it though. However, I had to cut this dangling thing off the top. The kittens clawed at him and couldn't free themselves. That dangling thing is dangerous. Always monitor and control playtime with new toys to protect your kittens.

Works well but tips over easily

We recently added 2 kittens to our family and of course kittens need scratching posts so we gave this one a try. Our two cats started using it right away and it's been great, but there's one big problem with it. The base isn't big enough and in most cases a kitten using it will tip over and fall on it. If the pedestal was a bit bigger then it certainly wouldn't tip over. Come on it was a cheap product but we won't be buying it again for other rooms in our house.

Pros
  • An absolute legend

A good dream book for my cats for the price

I didn't expect it to be very durable. My cats still haven't used it as a scratching post but they love sleeping on the base! They curl up on the post base and sleep on it. Strange. Give them time, I'm not sure they'll start scratching it. For the price, I suspect it won't last many years. Then nothing happens again. After researching and using so many products over the years, we don't want to spend more than $20 on cat toys because we know they don't last long. Our cats will urinate on them or

Great scratching post

So far the toy is still attached to the top of the scratching post although the kittens and their mother are trying to tear it down. Often climbed on by kittens, it will survive their pole struggles while climbing, so it is extremely hardy, although the kittens currently weigh only 5 pounds and the mother 8.5 pounds. My siamese kitten weighs 10 pounds and has also been mounted a few times but most of the time it is played with by 3 kittens. Because of the nice cap on top of the post, sometimesโ€ฆ
