    I actually bought this book for my friend who has been sewing for many years. Unfortunately, we found that most of the advice was empty. This is NOT a technique/improvement on your sewing book. There were very few illustrated examples - even then most of them were insignificant or useless. If you are intermediate sewing (like my friend) or better, I do not recommend this book.     This is not a book you sit down to read from cover to cover. This is a beautifully illustrated guide. I'm already a seasoned seamstress with a lot of experience and I still managed to pick up some ideas that were new to me and remembered some very useful shortcuts I used in the past but forgot. Great memories! Sewing is not a "clean and tidy" hobby and I am not a "clean and tidy" person.
