I had to sew through part of the hook to keep it from coming loose. The rest works great. It's cheaper than most other light up collars so I didn't mind. The collar worked great on our hike. I also wear a collar for night walks. A collar will come in handy as my dog has a long coat, all black German Shepherds. It melts into the night. I stick to a very loose fit so she doesn't tuck into her coat. I would recommend if you don't mind the smaller assembly being required.
