Solidly built. The manual lens is just as sharp as me.

Solidly built. The manual lens is as sharp as I can expect. Lined with red felt, the case is made of thin leather material with button closure and cylindrical shape.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • disappears

Superb Japanese optics - super happy with this lens

Very happy with this lens - I mainly use manual settings on the Pentax K S-2. Incredible quality. A very heavy piece of glass and metal - but the result is wow. Highly recommended! In addition, the seller is excellent.

Pros
  • Best in my niche
Cons

Good bokeh, slightly muted colors.

The bokeh is so good. The focal length is suitable for a portrait and delivers a decent image quality. It can be quite sharp in the center, not really annoying at the edges. However, the colors were a bit muted compared to my other lenses. I could always click that in Lightroom.

Pros
  • Everyone likes it so far
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Old lenses mean old plastic body. Just so that every reader understands, the older the plastic, the weaker it is and the easier it is to break. That's exactly what happened with this lens in a camera bag. There is a small chip on the side, which I am not very happy about. If you are interested in the end result (e.g. photos) - this lens does a good job of creating a beautiful bokeh!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

Works great as a 202.5mm lens on a DSLR

I've been looking for a good prime telephoto lens but can't spend the big bucks on new lenses at the moment. When I saw this lens between 1980 and 1988 I decided to try it. Being an old film lens, it will convert on a modern DSLR like my Kr. It has a built in lens hood that pops out of the body if you want it. I am totally in love! Just one question. The lens is old enough that the camera couldn't take some readings from it. The camera will prompt you to set the focal length when it turns on…

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Everything is great
