A good travel companion, but not for everyday use

The Pentel Water Brush is ideal for travel and when you need a quick sketch. However, if you want a slightly higher quality brush for around the same price, go for the Sekura Koi.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • There are some nuances

Very disappointed with drawing, painting and art supplies

I bought this higher quality water brush. I bought some cheap ones and I really liked them but they told me to go for the Pentel. It flows. It is therefore unsuitable for watercolours. It took forever to get here and then it leaks. Don't buy anyone else. The cheaper one works fine.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Not as thick as other sets

Great for watercolors

I've never been good at watercolors with a simple brush and water. You have been a lifesaver for me and have finally made watercolor work fun instead of stressful and hectic. Would recommend to family and friends who struggle with traditional watercolor techniques.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • I'll add later

Works perfectly!

Used for watercolors, works well. a fairly steady stream of water, and the barrel can be flattened a little to get more water. It's a bit tricky to mix colors with as it's pretty easy to get too much water and there's no real way to stop the flow. The brush stains (with Mission Gold watercolors + some noodle ink) but I can get it clean enough to switch colors so stains don't bother me.

Pros
  • Stable results when tested
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Leaky barrel - disappointing

I saw good reviews of this brush on YouTube and Revain so I was keen to try this brush. I was very disappointed to find a significant leak from the barrel at the base of the brush. Some water ran to the top, but a lot dripped out of the barrel, staining and making it impossible to control the water. Revain refunded my purchase price but I didn't have the brush I was hoping to use. Very disappointing Pentel!

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Unbeatable

I have both the medium and medium mini waterbrush and it's a good product. It works very well with ink and watercolor, but can also be used for gouache. If you press on it while painting, you will get a constant flow of water, suitable for rinsing and mixing. The brush itself is great. I used it a lot but had no problems with strands falling out. The plastic also feels solid in the hand and the cap can be attached to the end of the pen.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad but...
