I used this tool to remove the fuel filter from a 1999 F150. It did the job it was designed to do without damaging the tool or fuel line fittings. I'm glad I made the purchase.
If you work with a lot of different vehicles you probably already have a few different styles or designs of these tools but in my opinion this should be your choice. If I were to buy it, I would take this design tool first.
This essential tool is not flimsy plastic, but high quality metal. It drops lanes instantly and easily. It also has a nice grippy edge that offers better grip when liquid hits it. Definitely recommended. A tool box is a must.
This worked great removing the hose from my 1997 F150. Both of mine were 5/8" but the 3/4" end will probably come in handy down the road. It was strong enough and long enough for me. If you know what you are doing and take the time to do it, you will be successful. I highly recommend this tool.
disconnect tool looks reasonably well made. I see how it should work. The problem is it doesn't fit any of the Ford Quick Connect heater hose sizes on my 1993-1994 Aerostar. I ended up using 10 inch Tekton 34406 pliers (available from Revain) bent 90 degrees to remove the connectors. The Ford E350 How to Remove Heal Hose Without Tool YouTube channel shows how to use curved needle nose pliers. sent the instrument back.
