Permatex 80190 SaferScraper: 2 Refillable Blades for Efficient Cleaning Review

I don't know how I survived without this one lol. I bought this on the recommendation of a book I was reading. I have 4 little boys and I use it all the time. I always find sticky nasty stuff on the floor and under the seats. That and your favorite cleaning spray will do the trick. Because it's a plastic that won't ruin or scratch most surfaces. This is now my favorite cleaning tool.

I believe this is a disposable wipe. 3 stars for the price, otherwise 2 stars. You can't remove the gasket, but the plastic is too soft. Fractures/tears/bends/dents/destroys blades very quickly and doesn't seem to hold straight. Also, do you think they can give you at least three turning blades? I could barely use it on a pad before ruining both blades (on 4 sides). We're really talking about blades here. Just what I needed! After our cold winter, some of the vinyl decals on my car's glass began to peel off. I had to take them off but there was still a lot of sticker left that made my nails impossible to use. Enter this device. It doesn't scratch my window at all. Several Desolve it and Cleanup apps and I uninstalled them all. It took about 15 minutes for each zone. You'll have to scrape a little, but it goes right under the sticker, which is way better than my old scratching method.

It may be refillable but I couldn't find any extra blades here. The handle is made out of cheap plastic and flexes, making the tactile feedback terrible. The mechanism that holds the blade in place bends when you change blades, ruining something that wasn't very good anyway. So when you deploy the single extra blade, it wobbles and refuses to stay perpendicular to the hilt. I wouldn't recommend this and will just use Shark 66 plastic handleless blades instead. Used to remove vinyl strips from the hood of my Mini Cooper. After 5 years of sun exposure, SoCal decals were almost impossible to peel off on their own - they chipped off in tiny pieces. I spent over two hours using the heat gun to remove one of the strips and only got about 3/4 through. Bought this scraper, waited on a very hot day and removed the remaining 1 1/4 strips in 1/2 hour. This is a pretty good product, especially considering how much it's going to cost if you use a metal blade or tool and end up damaging the case you're paying to replace. It does an excellent job of removing the padding (which is what I bought it for) and cleaning up leftovers, but the blades get damaged very quickly. I use it for lighter jobs like removing labels from food wraps, boxes and plastic bottles. It works very well and is very well designed. The long handle offers better control and power than mini razor blade scrapers. I've used this with Scotty Peeler and tested them against each other.
