Small and limited use

Haven't used it yet as despite being described as being able to be outside it needs a separate drawer or area to protect from the elements. Slightly misleading. For small animals only. My medium sized cats barely fit in it. Requires a protected area. Can't be outside without protection.

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Has flaws

My street cat was afraid to step in

. This is a great product. Unfortunately my street cat refused to try it, maybe too small and closed for her. Now I use a heating pad under her regular blanket with a chair and a blanket wrapped around it to keep the wind out - more room for her.

Pros
  • . Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • . I don't remember but there was something

Maybe not in all weathers, but I have a solution

The outer material seems to absorb water rather than repel it. To be honest I don't recall it being advertised as being weatherproof. I have it under a canopy but rain splashes fall on it. My solution was to take three children's play mats connected together to form a triangle surrounding the cat house to keep it dry. Still satisfied with the purchase, the cat often stops in it.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • There are problems

A good cat bed is good for cats

I had to assemble a nine year old child because I couldn't get it right. He did it in two minutes. It's durable and offers gentle warmth and I put it in my shop for my wildcats. I'm afraid nobody used it. I think the plastic cover meant to keep out the elements discouraged it and just yesterday I unplugged it and put it on a storage shelf. I will try again. I wouldn't use it outside, I don't think it will stand up to the elements.

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Waiting too long

Great outdoor cat house for covered porch or garage

Both my indoor and outdoor kitties love these shelters. Possums also use them. After initial assembly, they are easier to open, clean and reassemble. Cat hair sticks to the inside, but other than that, it's a great solution for keeping cats warm outside in winter. I put both on the porch, sheltered from the rain. I don't think it would be good for them to get wet. The instructions say not to use extra comforters inside, but I do and it makes the sheets easier to keep clean. Would definitely…

Perfect for our street cat!

I bought this house for our outdoor cat because in winter we get cold especially at night. I turn it on when I know it's getting cold and he loves it! I put his blanket there and he immediately settled into it. I also like that it has a detachable Velcro "door" for more extreme temperatures to really keep it warm. The only downside I found with this product is that only the back half of the bed heats up when plugged in. It's not a product issue, it's just the way it was made. The heated part is

Great outdoor cat house

I bought one of these for my neighbor's cat last fall. It served him well over the winter, to the point that the cat (named Steven, so of course we'll call him Steven the Cat) wouldn't come out to feed during the week-long ice storm and convalescence. .Tips you may find helpful: I place the shelter on a coffee table on the back porch about 1.5 to 2 feet from the porch floor and the food is placed to the side and on the floor so hungry nighttime opossums don't eat it do sneak around shelter. I…

Our wildcat uses it semi-regularly

Last winter we did TNR (trap neuter release) on a wildcat and surprisingly he came to eat later winter and again this fall. So we bought this heated shelter and put it on the porch. About 2 weeks later he tried it and seemed to like it. He spends about 5 hours a day there (from midnight to 5am) on the few nights that he'd rather hole up here than in the barn he lives in. We have a camera and he comes in very, very cautiously and when he leaves after 5 hours he makes a good run on the way out…

  • So far so good

Doorway too small

My cats are working cats - their job is to keep the rodent population on our farm. But I want them to be comfortable and happy so that everyone has a place with a roof over their heads, a bowl of warm water and food available at all times. Our largest cat lives in our unheated three-season room and I bought him a soft-walled "cat igloo" a few years ago. It worked great. He slept in it often throughout the winter and it kept him warm. However, when the feather began to warm up, he stopped…
