I bought this to teach my dogs to come (inside the house and in the garden) and found it quite noisy. I also ordered an orange waterproof whistle and sent it back because the sound was too quiet.

You helped teach my dog to dig holes in the garden. A quick, sharp whistle when he started digging taught him not to dig a few weeks later. In general, this works very well, but you have to be persistent and pay close attention to your dog. Don't abuse it.

Highly recommend. I did everything vocally, non-verbally, etc. My standard black schnauzer gets 0 to 60 on trigger points. This whistle prevents him from continuing. It's not instant. This can take anywhere from 1 day to 6 months depending on if he or she wants to do it and when. My boy is a stubborn bludger and sometimes he listens and sometimes he ignores the whistle. In progress. But effective

I used this with the "Come" command so my dog could hear me better from a distance. He reacts well and comes running when I blow two quick punches. The tone is consistent and doesn't really change the tone whether you blow softly or loudly, making it recognizable to a dog. It's also not too high and intrusive and doesn't bother my ears when I'm using it. (I really hate loud noises and a lot of whistles really bother me, but not this one!)

I wanted a whistle I couldn't hear. It is not. I'm not just a nerd saying he hears a dog whistle, I'm a nerd who measured 4900.0 Hz. It's well within human hearing. I would accept a measurement above 10kHz but I think the idea is to go beyond 15kHz. Children can sometimes hear up to 20k. So this is a good pipe. You can use it with your dog. But that's not what the average person thinks of when looking for a dog whistle.
