Don't waste your money

I bought black for pepper, works great. I bought the light one because it was advertised for salt. It could be for the salt but it doesn't clog and grind as advertised. I think they just used the same mechanism for pepper and salt. Pepper is much milder than pink salt. Salt comes in the form of rock crystals. It does not grind salt crystals and stops working when it gets into the mechanism. It took hours to pull them off as there was no water.

Pros
  • Mechanism is fully adjustable, grinds from very coarse to powdery
Cons
  • Infuriates

Best salt and pepper grinder I've ever owned

I've tried so many different salt and pepper grinders in one pack and Cut. I spent little money on some and most of them break or the main problem is that it doesn't work but manages everything on the counter. The design of this grinder eliminates this problem. . My husband was very skeptical but now he has changed his mind. They are great and would recommend them to anyone. What matters is the size of the salt and pepper.

Pros
  • Two stage pepper mechanism - clicks first, then grinds peppercorns - maximizes flavor and aroma extraction from peppers
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other grinders

These people can't be serious! I bought a pair.

These people can't be serious! I bought a few, one salt, one pepper. That's the "solo" answer: nonsense. Period. "Set” (well, you know, supposedly for choosing the size of the grind) is ineffective, but despite everything, waiting for the appearance of salt (moreover, something like a "fog” in the consistency) is a completely useless exercise . I went back to McCormick's small disposable coffee grinders. It's a shame to see a truly 'famous' brand so deadlocked.

Pros
  • Beech mill body; Wipe your hands with a soft cloth
Cons
  • operating speed

Doesn't work as advertised

I first bought a Peugeot pepper grinder and liked it so much I decided to buy a salt grinder. When I received the salt shaker it already contained some coarse salt and seemed to work well at these initial settings, so I didn't explore the other adjustable settings (I through IIIIII). When the salt ran out, I added coarse Himalayan salt and started testing different settings. Unfortunately I can only use settings IIIIII, IIIIII and IIII. It just gets stuck there, so settings I, II, and III are…

Pros
  • Home & Kitchen
Cons
  • Poor instructions

UPDATED 7/1/12. HE cracked. I fixed it

The raw base of these mills "can" absorb moisture from a wet surface, which can cause wood joinery to fail. To avoid this possibility, take a few minutes to apply a light coat of vegetable oil to seal the wood. Peugeot makes a wonderful grinder that should work flawlessly for years. February 12 Update: Why Use a Salt Mill? Because very finely ground sea salt seems to add more flavor than a lot more salt crystals in my opinion. Also, sealing bare wood seems to have done the trick without…
