The 1/4-20 mounting section is attached to the rest of the unit with what appears to be cheap and scarce glue. Mine fell apart and my camera almost fell onto the sidewalk. I tested it two ways. The first method was to use the battery free stick in my Gopro 7 and it worked great. There was no hum that others are reporting. I then tried it with the battery in a Gopro 7 and plugged it into a flash drive and it recorded again with no noise when I played it on my computer.
