What an improvement over the standard

I have three evaporative coolers that we use in our body shop 20 hours a day for five months a year. Normally we wear out the bearing every year. These bearings use grease instead of oil and are used in most other applications. The design is more automotive and it looks like it will last for years instead of months. With them, the engine even turns faster because they have less resistance. All coolers must have such bearings.

Pros
  • Sturdy cast iron housing
Cons
  • Not bad but...

I still don't know what's better in bearings

I can't even use these bearings because they aren't pressed properly. Totally wrong. I'm returning them for two more, let's see what happens to these two. If I get the next two good then I'll leave a five star review. The parts have arrived and look perfect. I understand these are spherical bearings but the first batch just didn't look right, even when I straightened the bearings the cast housing just didn't sit right. The new batch looks great, we'll see how they hold up, but so far so good.

Pros
  • Self centering feature
Cons
  • Expensive

A little hard. suitable for sleeve bearings

I bought two pairs for the cable trolley. The idea was to place a heavy roller between two bars that are free to rotate using PGN bearings. So far, so good. They work well and are easy to set up. The only problem is that they don't turn easily but are quite stiff. There are no instructions on how to lubricate them and how to just start them. I ended up using some bike chain lube and it helped a little but still didn't spin as freely as expected. Update: I have ordered a grease gun and will make

Pros
  • Chrome steel (AISI 52100) ball bearings for increased strength and durability
Cons
  • Wrinkled packaging
