I was amazed by the beauty and craftsmanship of this set. Small heavy chisels covered with leather; Stone blocks, wooden carving vise, chopping constructions. All were exquisite. Now if only I knew how to transfer the drawings and cut them properly!

I just got this and here's what I thought.1. I had seven stones, not eight as stated in the product description.2. All stones were oval. I was hoping for a variety of shapes as shown in the product description picture.3. of the three carving tools that came with the set, two were identical.4. the leather strap on the instrument is more annoying than helpful. Mine broke within minutes of using the tool. Overall a good set for the price. But probably good enough to use once or twice.

Two items I received were broken (see picture). I wrote to the seller but received no reply. Poor quality ink, very grainy. I was told not to use ink if I plan on keeping the painting. The stones seem to crumble easily. The four corners of most of the stones appear to have been broken off. I was told the stones could be made from composite stones. Great set for beginners. For the price of the stones you also get a mount which I think is essential. I haven't used chisels yet; they will come in handy when I carve my yang seals. The sandpaper is great. The only negative are the stickers - I have no idea what they are for. A tip: get a carbide marker (less than $5 at Revain). The Ritz cuts through the soapstone like butter, allowing for precise contouring. LED lighted headband magnifying headphones (under $20 at Revain) were a must for my…
