Not the light of Ott! in bulbs

If you are used to reading or working under Ott's light, this will NOT cut! The color is rather yellowish and the intensity and spread are not that great. I often combine colors in my work and that definitely wouldn't work for me; So I put it in a lamp in my workshop and will get used to the light it gives me. However, if you're just looking for a basic replacement, this is good value for money. Just don't rely on it to replace your Ott.

Pros
  • base type: 2G11
Cons
  • write later

Not like pure daylight but good enough

I bought this to replace the original in my inventory of OttLight as I thought it had completely burned out. It turned out that the switch on my unit was worn and in need of repair, but afterwards it was obvious that this bulb didn't match Ott's and was a slightly warmer or duller colour. I went back to my original lightbulb as it still works but left it for the day it finally fails or I end up with another light that will last.

Pros
  • 18W 3000K
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Dollar Saving OttLite Replacement Bulb

This bulb replaces a blown bulb in my OttLite floor lamp. OttLite was charging $25 for a similar type of bulb, and this light was around $8.50 on Prime. Even with the photos it was difficult to determine exact dimensions and although both are 18 watts my Ott part number was 9525 which does not match any Phillips part number and I have a 2000 discontinued lamp and the number bulbs on current models. do not correlate to the 9525. I measured the base, the bulb and the pins that go into the bulb…

Pros
  • Lumens: 1125
Cons
  • Unreliable
