Bought a set of 4 of these to replace 3 CFLs in lamps running 12 hours a day (or more) believing additional efficiency gains might be warranted. Good brightness and color reproduction, no defects yet. When they were "new," my electrical company (Duke) provided boxes of equivalent 60W and 75W CFLs for little or no charge. About a year ago I bought a pack of these bulbs to try with a few lights. Not only were these bulbs inexpensive, I couldn't tell the difference between these bulbs and a 100w incandescent bulb. Philips has done a good job of achieving the colour, warmth and brightness of a standard incandescent bulb. Two months ago I bought 8 packs of these bulbs to replace every light in my house. At around $3 per bulb, this was an inexpensive way to make my entire home more energy efficient and I'm seeingโ€ฆ

Suitable for Camping in Bulbs

The color of these lights is perfect. I hate super white light. I have found that the amount of light emitted is about the same as a conventional 60w bulb and a CFL bulb of the same wattage. The lamp itself is at a relatively low temperature, around 100 degrees Fahrenheit (78 degrees Fahrenheit in an air-conditioned room). However, the middle part between the bulb and the base gets very hot. This is the part that says Phillips in the picture. My cheap laser temp gun says it gets close to 190โ€ฆ
