A box of broken glass arrived.

Seemed like a bargain. Outer box opened and then tilted to remove inner box. Then I heard shards of glass moving inside. I didn't bother opening the inner box because it sounded like every lightbulb inside would have to be smashed. To get a refund, I had to print out the shipping label, reseal the outer box, and attach the shipping label. Then go to your local UPS store. So, lesson learned. NO deal if I put in the time, materials and effort and didn't have a single lightbulb to show it off…

Great price for classic light bulbs!

These 65 watt Phillips lamps are excellent for incandescent lamps. If you buy them by the dozen for $29.12, that's $2.43 per bulb. The color temperature is 2710 Kelvin, which creates a soft, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere in your home (compared to the harsh white light in the office). Phillips states that if you use these bulbs an average of 3 hours a day, 7 days a week, they can last about a year. This was not the case for me as they lasted about 3-4 years with regular use. The type of…

Pros
  • Stepless dimming. Dimmable Philips lamps are flicker-free, quiet and tested with more dimmers than any other lamp on the market; These BR40 projector lamps gently dim from 2710 Kelvin to a soft glow
Cons
  • I will add later

The product matched the description. However. who knew.

*** LESSON LEARNED! Actually a few. ***1) I've seen a lot of people ask what the lightbulbs say if they have anything printed on them. The last update was 2 years ago so here are photos of the ones I got. 2) I assumed the lamp/packaging would state it was dimmable when in fact it was. Apparently, this is an urban legend. ;) Packaging and bottle are not specified. somewhere. I went back and re-read the description and looked at the product image and the notification area says "dimmable" but…

Nothing beats a traditional incandescent bulb (with dimmer)

In our house there are several lamps made of cans. Some lamps are dimmable, others are not. For those who don't have dimmers, I've opted for new style LED bulbs to take advantage of the increased energy efficiency that LED bulbs offer. However, with dimmer lights, I have found that nothing beats a traditional incandescent bulb. I now know that LED bulbs are technically dimmable and they even make specially designed dimmers for LED bulbs called CL dimmers (which I have). But as a result of…
