Review on πŸ’‘ Optimized Philips BR40 LED Flood Light Bulb by Erin Young

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great price for classic light bulbs!

These 65 watt Phillips lamps are excellent for incandescent lamps. If you buy them by the dozen for $29.12, that's $2.43 per bulb. The color temperature is 2710 Kelvin, which creates a soft, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere in your home (compared to the harsh white light in the office). Phillips states that if you use these bulbs an average of 3 hours a day, 7 days a week, they can last about a year. This was not the case for me as they lasted about 3-4 years with regular use. The type of lamp you choose for your home has its pros and cons. If you have opted for a classic light bulb, it may be cheaper initially, but it will cost you more in the long run due to the energy consumption. They also tend not to last as long. If you want to switch to LED technology, LED lamps cost twice as much, but save you a lot of money in the long run thanks to the lower energy consumption. LED bulbs also last the longest (18 years). Phillips specifically states that their LED bulbs use 80% less power than their 65W incandescent bulbs, yet still provide similar results. So when you consider the overall cost, LED light bulbs may be the best bang for your buck in the long run (even if they are deceptively more expensive). I can't decide what suits you and your needs, so it's up to you to decide!

Pros
  • Stepless dimming. Dimmable Philips lamps are flicker-free, quiet and tested with more dimmers than any other lamp on the market; These BR40 projector lamps gently dim from 2710 Kelvin to a soft glow
