I'm probably too blunt to tell this model apart from a truly high-end model, but I think this is an amazing 4K monitor. It's bright, light, thin, affordable, and frankly, it looks and performs a lot better than you'd expect given the price.

I needed it from time to time for 4k video streaming and light gaming. Superb picture quality with 4K content and great gaming performance at 60Hz.

Stripes and flickering appeared on the screen after 3 months of use. There was no physical contact with the monitor except for adjusting the position on the table, after which the enclosed handling instructions were properly followed. We needed a monitor to replace my wife's 27" iMac. The resolution and picture quality is better than her old 27" iMac. We were so impressed with the quality and the price that we bought 4:two for my wife's new Mac Mini (with new Apple chip) and two for my Lenovo PC laptop One caveat: IPS monitors can burn in. I haven't had any problems with this, but sometimes a warning pops up on the screen.

Reliable monitor for the price. One downside is that you can't easily adjust the brightness (it takes 4 menu clicks) and there's no automatic brightness adjustment.

I have an older MacBook Pro (no video port) Thunderbolt 3 ports. I used an HDMI adapter and it works great. Its adjustable stand lets you get the perfect viewing angle!

4k on this monitor is fantastic. I have it next to my HD monitor and I can barely look at the HD monitor because it looks so dark and grainy in comparison that my eyes have to adjust. Should have bought two of these.

I'm really impressed that it was so easy for me. After setting up the monitor, I wanted to see how it compares to my TN panel. After a few months, the monitor stopped receiving input. Bought a new cable but not good. The contact page of the Philips website goes blank. Now it's just an anchor. Nobody cares.

For some reason, when I bought a new desktop computer, the TV monitor that I had used in the past with great results could not be adjusted to give a clear picture. Bought a Philips 278E1A and it's crystal clear. I even made the text much smaller and can view multiple windows with no problem. The color is also great for photos.

I ordered this monitor from Deal Targets; I am satisfied with their service. Apparently this is a popular item as availability changes almost daily and prices fluctuate. I was happy to get one for a reasonable price. Be careful what you order. The 278E1A has a good VESA mount, the other doesn't.

I mounted this VESA monitor on a multi-monitor stand and had no problems with the mount. The holes on the back seem 100x100 to me and the connector placement, while not perfect (as seen in the photos), was fine. I was a monitor fanatic for a while. After 12 days, a faint vertical purple streak began to appear intermittently in the center of the screen. It was intermittent but I returned the monitor for fear it would become permanent. I suspect it was just a defective unit, otherwise the monitor works surprisingly well.

It's a decent monitor with a reasonably good resolution, plenty of port support, and nice looks. Haven't tried playing it yet. Frame/rim not as thin as expected but acceptable. The angle isn't adjustable, so have a dictionary or textbook handy as a cornerstone. FYI, note that while the MacBook Air 2015 can output 4k resolution, it has a very significant lag, and I personally find that the refresh rate drops below 10 even when browsing Reddit or viewing PDF, what the heck is not a monitor…

I really liked this monitor and wanted it to last a long time. A decent monitor for the price. BUT. it only worked about 3 months. Then one day while playing it started flashing different colors and stopped working. I couldn't even access the device's menu. I turned off the power and tried to restart several times. Vain. Looked at factory/hard reset and they didn't have one for this device. Called Philips support, they claim under warranty. A very annoying and unreliable monitor. upset.

I connected it to my laptop via the HDMI port, it offers a very clear output and a very large workspace. I also like the low blue light option, which I leave on all the time (it took about half a day to get used to). Very happy with the purchase, everything works better than I expected.
