💡 Philips DE3175WLED Ultinon White LED Bulb (1 Pack, Large) Review

I have bought several of these lights for the dome and map lighting in my car. They are brighter than conventional incandescent bulbs and produce pure white light. They also work well in the dark (my car dims the lights a few seconds after you close the door). Although expensive, they seem to be much better built than the cheaper, brighter LED lights I've bought. Others varied in length, and some were too large for the torso. They also made an uncomfortable buzz when dimmed.

I have ordered several other replacement DE3175 LEDs from other manufacturers, all have sizing issues. Most often they are too long and the end caps are not sharp enough to fit securely into the socket. This Philips LED bulb is the same size as regular DE3175 bulbs but MUCH brighter. I also bought a Sylvania Zevo 3175 bulb and it was no brighter than a regular bulb but cost more than this Philips LED bulb. I will no longer buy Sylvania LED products.

Perfect fit for my Mazda Miata "NC". It clicks into place accurately and offers adequate, but not super-bright, light. For this I give 3 runs. My main complaint is that this light doesn't come in a warmer color like 2700K or 3000K (warm/amber). Declared color 6000K, white-blue. I knew that when I bought it. Bought for a friend so he can turn off a low light bulb (no map light) in a 2019-2021 RAV4. The lantern cover can be removed with a very thin small flat head screwdriver. Be very careful not to break or scratch the clear plastic. When the light is on you can see some small protrusions towards the switch where you need to insert a screwdriver to loosen the protrusions. I installed a pair of these bulbs in my 2014 Honda Ridgeline front light tonight and as promised they produce a bright and pleasing white light. They don't glare but seem to put out more light than the bulbs they replaced. They work pretty much like the lightbulbs I pulled out (see below) and go out when the door is closed like they should.
