Customers beware of best halogen bulbs

I bought these Philips track lighting bulbs from my retail store. I bought a lot! 14 have come out to date. It is sad. At Home Depot. Very disappointed!

Cons
  • Vulgarity

Not as good as we would like. for light bulbs

Addition to the review. These lamps did not last as long as the packaging said. I stopped ordering from this company. I went through all the lights in 4 months. Too bad.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • A few little things

Bulbs not of the best quality

These bulbs looked like genuine Philips bulbs. However, after installation, my lamp started blinking and buzzing randomly. This never happened with my original Phillips bulbs.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • So-so

Attention buyers! Not suitable for landscaping

The description says 'Landscape and Interior' but the packaging picture just says 'Indoor'. I have other Philips packages that clearly say Indoor Flood & Landscape. The brightness (lumens) is 240 for landscape and 750 for indoor use. The one star rating is based on a discrepancy between the description and what you actually get.

Be careful if your light is open at the back.

These bulbs emit a lot of light from the back of the bulb, unlike my original GE bulbs. This is an unwanted feature for me and unattractive in my track lighting over the kitchen island. I will not buy again and most likely I will buy something else but I will give these. I will inform you about the lifespan of the lamp later.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

50% failure after a few days

I have bought these lights several times over the past two years. They don't last as long as they say, but on the last batch about 50% of them fell out after a few days. And unlike previous shipments I've received, this batch does not have a protective lens covering the dome, so you must be careful not to touch the dome when installing the light. I'm currently testing LED lights to see if I can get rid of these lights.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • old

These lamps are suitable for fixtures that completely cover the back of the lamp and block the light from the back of the lamp. But if you have open track lights like I do, it's a pink unicorn circus with pink elves dancing all over the ceiling. Your home will look like a four-year-old girl's birthday party exploded on the ceiling. In fact, I can't help but laugh. I'm sending them back.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Various quality halogen bulbs

It's hard to estimate. First, those bulbs in downlights are difficult to replace, but that's not the bulb's fault! How long bulbs last CAN be judged and I've had very mixed experiences with the same bulbs from the same manufacturer in the same packaging. I've had lightbulbs that worked for years, and then I've had a bunch (perhaps defective packaging) where they often burned out, sometimes just two weeks. This last batch seems to take longer. I hope this continues. As already mentioned, theyโ€ฆ

Does not live up to expectations

As a designer I am picky about my lamps, but even if I wasn't so picky I would hate these bulbs. First, the light is not "bright white" but with a bluish phosphor cast that shouldn't be around 2800K. Secondly, lightbulbs in some of my wall boxes hum loudly even without a dimmer. And third, as others have pointed out, they bounce the light back, which looks weird coming out of the light in my picture. I generally love the warm, shiny, comfortable halogen light, but these bulbs don't offer thatโ€ฆ
