Not exactly yellow, but close enough to do the job.

Not quite yellow but close enough to get the job done. Since installing I haven't had any problems with bugs swarming around the streetlights. I have five streetlights and the bugs make a mess on my siding when I use white lights. These lamps solved that problem. They're slightly green to yellow in hue, and if that bothers you, look elsewhere. My old yellow incandescent bulbs always burned out quickly, but these LED bulbs should last a very long time. Bright and effective.

We are very happy with these lamps. We live pretty close to the Everglades so we have an insect problem year round, but we also like to turn on our outdoor lights at night. For many years we used yellow light bulbs, which were inefficient and often burned out. We then moved on to shaded/capped CFLs which made them look generic but are now hard to find. Knowing they didn't match our other lightbulbs, we replaced all of the lightbulbs in front of our house and the results have been great. These…

White LED flat panel light with cheap inefficient dull orange plastic bulb

I was hoping to use this Philips bulb at night as it emits melatonin protecting light with no blue. I'm currently doing this with yellow/amber LED strips, LED chips specifically designed not to emit blue and making good use of the yellow/red end of the spectrum. Type 105 Theater Gel Filter (available at theater lighting stores, not Revain, sigh).
