I used the Norelco Maverick for over 20 years until it finally gave up so I looked forward to another 20 years with this item. When it arrived the battery was dead. The battery died so the first thing I did was charge it fully and it worked as expected the first time. So I also have the Norelco Multi Trim range but as it comes with about 25 tips it has become very difficult for me to use it over the years to keep in mind. Also, the beard was trimmed unevenly even when using attachments. Which led to me just growing a beard and then just shaving it off. Now I can quickly change the trimmer setting and it does a great job of cutting evenly. The downside is that it doesn't cut as close as my other Norelco, so I'll still use it in some situations.
