This is a nickel diameter, the sponge is very soft, pulls towards the handle with minimal tension when wrapping hair around it. I had the biggest mess taking it out after sleeping on it. I had to wash my hair because I couldn't even comb it. I will recycle the plastic frames and throw the styrofoam in the trash. Definitely a bad buy! They just don't make them like they used to, thanks to China.

The purple rollers came well wrapped in plastic but when I used them half the plastic clips on the rollers kept catching in the hair and falling out. My hair isn't long so it really annoys me. I felt like half of them were incomplete. There are so many videos that I will just throw out the broken ones.

I bought these to replace the ones I've had for 30 years. I rarely use them, but every once in a while there's a case where good 'old' reels do the trick. The plastic is cheap. My old ones were made of durable plastic, but these are flimsy.

They work but come off the clip very easily which is annoying as hell. If someone else uses them I am sure they are easy to use but if you use them on your own hair it will be a bit of a hassle.
