Great item when used with other software *Please Read*

I've had this Dazzle USB for years and still love it to death. I edit a lot of video, mostly in high definition, but sometimes I need to import from an analogue source. I have to say that my Dazzle has been 100% reliable since day one, years and years ago. Unfortunately, for most people, Dazzle's fatal flaw is its awful software and therefore unwieldy use. I'm sad to see such great hardware suffer from such extremely bad software BUT there is a very simple workaround. input device. Just go into

outdated and totally useless

If you have a newer operating system than Windows Vista, this just won't work for you. If you're still using Vista, this *might* work for you if you follow a very specific set of installation instructions to get your system to use it. However, there's a good chance you'll experience lots of random blue screens, often while working on something using this device. However, if you are still using Windows XP (not compatibility mode! Native XP), you can easily install and use this device and…

the worst Internal components

I first bought it about a year ago. And I have been trying to burn CDs on my system which is a Dell PIII 700MHz with 512MB RAM and Win2000 OS. For some reason it crashed when I tried to create a VCD after rendering the movie and creating the MPEG file. I thought there might be something wrong with my system. So I upgraded to a Dell P4 2.4GHz with 768MB RAM and Windows XP Home. Now when I try to install the hardware, I get a Windows blue screen. The error is some kind of security and…

Keep looking elsewhere

I bought this product to transfer Hi8 to DVD and was completely disappointed. Video quality is poor at best. Colors are particularly bad - washed out, rainbows floating in the video, strange artifacts, and dropout failures (although the Pinnacle software has never reported any dropped frames). I don't expect DVD Hollywood quality video but I know what my original video looks like and this product didn't even look as good as internet streaming video. I could tolerate the product with its video…

That works fine.

I don't usually bother to comment on products, but after reading previous posts I decided I should. The card is not bad at all for its price. I've used it on multiple systems with no problems. As with most USB devices, plug it in after the system boots and you won't have the same issues as any of the previous browsers. I've used it on Windows XP and Windows 2000 operating systems with no problems. I plugged it in, the operating system needed a driver, I put in the CD that came with it. It…

Avoid Computers and Accessories

I brought this home and it worked pretty quickly. I had no problem transferring video from VCR to computer. So why a star? Well I have a feeling the box and its advertising are misleading. The DVC 80 can only record video in AVI format at 360 x 240, about half the size of a television screen. There is no mention of this anywhere in the minimum documentation that comes with the item. I thought I was doing something wrong and tried to contact support but the call took too long. Eventually I got…
