Really good speakers

I powered them from a stock Pioneer head unit at 50 RMS x4. The highs are great and the low end might keep me from needing a subwoofer, even if I don't have enough power without an amplifier.

Make sure your tweets are private

Things are great, but unless you buy at least a 400-watt 4-way compact amp, you won't get your money's worth. I've used a 600-watt Kenwood on these and some Polish ones, and they sounded as powerful as a 10-inch Type R for medium bass. In my opinion, the tweeters are not sufficient for the price, hence the 3 stars.

Good sound best in car and car electronics

If you want to change speakers without adding a sub I don't think I've ever heard a 6x9 with better bass extension in this price range. These speakers need a lot of power, but once amplified they sound balanced and the low bass is absolutely warm and beautiful. It's all subjective, but I've heard stronger mids from other speakers, which might be a better option when paired with a subwoofer. The Pioneer tweeter brackets that came with the components fit perfectly on the A-pillars of my 2017 F150

Excellent sound quality and frequency response

These things are ruins. I haven't even hooked up my Pioneer 4 channel amp and right now I'm only plugging 25W RMS into them and the woofers pack a serious punch for their size. I'm planning to put some sound deadening material in my doors to keep the noise down because while they won't completely replace the sound you get with a subwoofer they will certainly give you some decent bass which makes me wonder how very much I need a subwoofer. I combine them with a Pioneer A Series 6.5 4 way coax…

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
