Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles. Nothing but bubbles

I tried again and again. NOTHING BUT BUBBLE! I have followed the instructions and there is nothing I can do to get rid of the blisters. On a recent attempt, I even put it in a vacuum chamber overnight. The bubbles never came out. DO NOT BUY THIS if you don't need bubbles.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Not suitable for beginners

I am not satisfied with this. This is very bad. I love other Pixiss products. However, I followed the instructions verbatim and still ended up with pretty sticky mold. I even let the mold sit for a few days and it was still sticky. This is definitely not a beginner mold making system.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Monster Clay Cure Retard

Cure Retard on contact with Monster Clay, a sulfate-free oil-wax clay that will not interfere with the cure of other tin- or platinum-based silicones. and their website. Otherwise, the silicone will cure well and be thin enough to dislodge trapped bubbles (or flow out of tiny gaps in the mold walls).

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Unfashionable

Will buy again

Works just as well as the Let's Resin silicone model. I like to add some mica powder to change the color since it's a bit transparent. Completely opaque by itself, but fairly transparent. It has microbubbles, but if you do it well, it won't affect the casting of the item you want. Details are also captured well. DO NOT use pre-cast UV parts for moulding/blanking.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
