Half of them were broken when they arrived

More than half of them were broken when they arrived and the inside of the packaging was wet from leakage. It smelled awful so I had to wash off the rest before I could give them to the kids. Even after washing they didn't smell.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

No real compasses.

They could just as easily be counterfeit rotary compasses without magnets. One out of 12 actually worked. The rest were deflected many degrees, usually around 30 degrees. Some were wrong, so north was south and south was north. Do not buy. they literally do nothing.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

They look great - some actually work.

I was happy to get them quickly when needed - and while I didn't expect them to be "field quality" only about half of the batch could get the letter "N" consistently included, which mostly points to north. The other quarter kept it facing "North" when gently held and coaxed. About another quarter was purely decorative. But the clip action worked well on all of them, and the compass's floating element was actually suspended in some kind of liquid. So for little kids who can't tell the difference

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs

Our kids love playing with it and can't wait to get it.

Our kids love to play with them and can't wait to take them camping this summer. They're plastic and shouldn't take a lot of wear and tear, but for the price they're great. They're pretty accurate too!

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some bugs

They are good for kids

They are good for kids so I bought them. But they are plastic and light. They are great as a souvenir bag or for camping in case the kids lose or break them. My 7 year old clipped one to his backpack and after 3 months it's still working.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons

Grayscale, most worked fine.

Bought 2 packs for my scout den. We used them on a hike that required them to learn how to use a map and compass. Of the 24, only 3 were not accurate enough. 2 of them stick out in the same direction until you touch the side a few times. Great for kids and seems to be holding something tight. Although the clip is easy to break.

Pros
  • Best in class
Cons
  • Some flaws

Great hideout!

This is my favorite stash. They are colorful and I really like all six colors! I tend to think that swag is mostly for kids and if I were a kid I'd really like to find that. I always put them in a small zippered bag for display. I've bought several sets and none have had a problem with the compass quickly pointing north. My sister-in-law has one on her backpack and goes hiking with it all the time. A few carabiners were a little slow to close but seem to have worked with them a couple of times.

Pros
  • This is awesome
Cons
  • Updates
