🌲 Pacific Northwest Components Loam Grip: Enhance Your Handling and Control Review

bought it for my son's bike he is 9 years old. Fits very well on a 9 year old hand and also fits my adult hand. Not sticky and not soft. They arrived yesterday, today we did 27 miles, it rained, he was happy with the grip both wet and dry. I will probably order a second set for my bike. Bought direct from PNW through Revain and shipping via FedEx took only 2 or 3 days to get from California to NC.

These grips won't let you down. Very sticky composition and quite plush. This is definitely an upgrade from my factory Cannondale lock on the handles. I like that they use larger hardware to secure the handles so they aren't likely to wear out. The color is a safe orange which I like. My bike has three small trellis lines in this color as accents and the knobs really make them stand out.

I switched from Ergons to these as I prefer singletrack riding. They provide much-needed padding and look great. UPDATE: After about 10 miles of use, I noticed that some of the rubber was separating from the grip. I contacted PNW with this complaint as I didn't think they should have shown so much wear and tear. They were quick and responsive in getting me a new pair! Great customer service - they didn't have to send me a new pair but they did!

I liked them so much I decided to put them on my commuter and trail bike. After buying the first set for my wife's bike because the color was beautiful and the reviews were great I had to have them on all my bikes. Very happy with the thickness, sticky yet firm feel and overall nice and soft feel. I can't say enough good things about the grips, I hope other PNW products are just as good because I will definitely try their droppers, maybe even the range bars.

I bought these for my dirt jumper (GT LaBomba) and I really like them. I also got some DMR Deathgrips and Sam Pilgrim's Pilgrips. All 3 are awesome, but I think the Pilgrips might be my favorite (they're a little softer than the Loams and cushion a little better for me). In general, you can't go wrong with clay. I've been looking for new handles for a long time. When they arrived I cut off the ones that originally came with the bike because I could see the quality of the new PNW knobs. The claws installed easily and the lock nut was pre-treated with threadlock to ensure proper thread sealing. The color is very accurate. The grip is inserted into the open slots of the plastic housing, which is placed on the handlebars and then the plastic housing is attached. with metal retaining rings. I really like these grips except for one thing. They have no protection for the ends of the poles. It would be great for PNW to develop a lockable aluminum end cap to prevent the grips from being damaged. I'm really bad at leaning my bike against things or putting it on the ground. The ends of the handles wear out very quickly when you do something like this. In terms of durability, I've had better luck with the plastic coated handles and dual snap rings. At the time of writing this review I've only been using them for a day but from my limited experience these grips only give me positive emotions. Comfortable with just enough padding (I think you may have too much padding), great grip (squeeze them when you get aggressive and they won't let go of your hands) and the colors really stand out against the contrasting color bar.
