Type of review

I wish I could give this ZERO stars. It failed after just a month - nearly 474GB of music GONE from the card (I have a backup of everything on an external hard drive so I don't lose the contents). PNY isn't one of the two brands I buy (Sandisk and Samsung), but overall it had good reviews, was a bit cheaper, and was the size I needed. The crash occurred when playing music through my Fiio DAP. I was able to verify that the problem was with the card and not my DAP by using different adapters and…

Cheap because it doesn't work.

Bullshit, my brand new Nintendo Switch lite didn't even last a week, saved less than 10GB, and now it doesn't work at all Let me even reformat his.

My 512GB card seems to be broken

Yesterday I received a PNY U3 Pro Elite MicroSD 512GB card (P-SDUX512U3100PRO-GE) and Windows recognizes it as 462GB in the exFAT file system. I always run a test to confirm the card is error free and not fake and I'm already getting mixed results. I've noticed that when my laptop was connected directly to my old Dell XPS 13 via the SD card adapter that came with the micro SD, it recognized the card quickly most of the time. 2 times out of 7 my computer freezes for a few seconds. I tested the…

Terrible micro SD card quality

My worst fears about buying cheaper third party goods have come true. After a day with that 512GB (and it was only 460GB on Windows) it stopped working. More importantly, when I threw it away, it was hot. Apparently there was a short circuit. It now has a noticeable bulge as it has been burned from the inside. With so many different SD cards, this was the first time I've seen one.

  • Easy installation

My Nintendo Switch is a BEAST with this thing.

I have too many games from the online store for my Nintendo Switch to work with a 128GB or 256GB card. While I would like to end up with a 1TB card, this one has to. Got it for $99 and it was absolute gold. Read/Write seems faster than my previous card and I still have a few GB left.

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Nothing here
