Looks great and works great!

I just bought this watch for my upcoming marathon training but I'm sure it will come in handy for cycling and swimming. After a few runs and a mountain bike ride, I have to say I'm very happy with the work. The color display is great and not overly cluttered with information like other watches. It was easy to sync with my phone and update my sport profiles as needed. The overall look of the watch is great allowing me to wear it to work without it looking too out of place. I like that theโ€ฆ

Love the watch, NO software or connectivity!

Ok let me start, I've replaced the polarV800 where the battery finally gave up! My biggest criticism of Polar is their {proprietary USB cable/connection). So I just plugged my new Polar Vantage into a USB port on my laptop, but my laptop didn't recognize it at all (no binka ka da bink). While it didn't work that much before, I now have dozens of USB devices that work perfectly, but the right Polars cable? It was also causing problems with my V800! So the good news is that the Bluetooth sync has

Has very useful features.

I've been wearing Polar since I bought them in 2003 for my first marathon. I've tried other brands but always chose Polar. I love the Polar Vantage V for its features and ease of use, but since Christmas (when I got it) I've had some issues with a 30% higher calorie burn rate than my Polar A-300 during exercise, so I don't know it is simply more accurate or sensitive than the A-300, or has the firmware/software changed. The other issue I had was that it factory reset two days ago 01/02/2020 and

Suunto Convert is the best in exercise and fitness

I have used a Suunto Spartan HR but after sending it to a repair center a second time due to a manufacturing defect I was ready for an upgrade. After some research, I settled on a Polar watch that seemed to have all the attributes of the more expensive competing brands. I run 35-50 miles a week and walk fairly regularly. The battery lasts at least a few days even with daily training, constant heart rate monitoring and sleep sensors. The GPS is very accurate (I measured it using a published race

Great hardware, mediocre software

UPDATE: After 2 months of heavy use I'm incredibly disappointed with the Polar Vantage V. I can no longer recommend this device for two reasons. 1) Inaccurate heart rate reading - heart rate is incredibly inconsistent both during exercise and while stationary. I've experimented a lot with strap tension (tight or loose), contact area (hair or skin, wet or dry), activity level (moving or standing), etc., and unfortunately my heart rate was often completely inaccurate. Even my cheap opticalโ€ฆ
