poor quality only 330 miles

Bought two belts and installed them on two Polaris RZR 1000's, one of them had the belt break after 330 miles showing parts of the belt torn apart, the second belt ( 360 km) was not torn, but already bounced off in pieces during the inspection, also damaged. I've fitted these straps before and haven't had any problems with them so far, it seems to me they're having some sort of factory marriage.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Not happy with everything

Replacement belt if needed

Cannot comment on quality or durability but Gates have always had good products and I expect this too. I only bought it to replace mine when it breaks down. It needs to be broken down just as much as when you bought the car new and it will likely last just as long, if not longer. I've heard that Gates is supplying Polaris with its belts, but only after the rebrand, although of course I'm not sure who is supplying Polaris. This is trail insurance at a much lower price.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Compatibility

Fits perfectly, works well, not detectable by OEM.

Perfect for work, can't tell from the OEM that was there. Maybe not that long but for 1/3 the OEM price they are very easy to swap out on my 2015 RXR 1000. I could do it on a mountainside in 15 minutes. a year and several hundred miles in the Colorado Rockies with no problems. It almost outlived my OEM.3/10/2019 still running with the same belt with no issues. 11/16/20 I'm still using it with no problems.

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Packaging is ugly

Great belt for the price

I was hesitant to buy a non original belt but after reading good reviews I bought it. It is much better than the original belt and half the price. This eliminates the jerky feeling you get when reversing, turning on or just accelerating. I always assumed it was just a Polaris issue but found that the Polaris belt was the source of the issue. 2017 Polaris RZR 1000 High Lifter Now with over 600 miles on the Gates belt I can say it's a lot better than the OEM.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Nothing

Short Life Belt - Belt

4100 miles on stock belt. This has only covered 1050 km. So much for claiming it outperforms the Polaris belt. The stock belt showed no real signs of wear, but after seeing standard belts break on Yamahas, CanAms and the like, I tried to beat the odds. This Gates belt disappointed me. After a little over 1000 miles it's really worn out, NO I haven't changed my driving habits or style. It's a bit like an hourglass and leaves a nice black coating on the case and components. I replaced it withโ€ฆ

For me there are no more goals.

Bought this belt as a backup for my 2019 Polaris 1000XP Trails and Rock. After 1500 miles on my stick band I noticed that after 40 miles of vigorous beach riding it started to slip. At the end of the day I decided to replace the belt with the Gates to avoid breaking the belt on the track. After 30 miles of variable throttle break-in, the Gates belt failed after only 70 miles of full use. The gates never seem to perform as well as the stock belt, in fact the original belt after running over 1500

Don't waste money!

Bought this belt as a replacement for my 2016 RZR XP1000. Drove over 1600 miles on the Stock Belt and was about to compete in an 85 mile off-road rally in Hawthorne, Nevada. So I decided it was better to replace the old belt and put in the Gates belt. I also ordered a non-gates replacement belt for the trip as a new replacement part for the RZR. Boy am I glad I did that. Including braking miles, I put this belt on 120 miles before it snapped and I'm not a very aggressive rider. I'd say I'm more

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

Belts Gates vs oem

It's funny how some people say it's junk when Polaris gets their belts from Gates! (in possession). To update. I have now had this belt in my 2017 xp4 1000 eps for some very hard intense rides. After breaking in the strap for the first time, I immediately noticed that it was more snug than the original strap. If you compare them side by side you can see the difference in thickness. The only complaint I have is a small chirping noise when accelerating cold or over-accelerating. But he hadn'tโ€ฆ
