Description of Velona's Polysorbate 80: Versatile 4 oz Solubilizer for Food, Cosmetics, and More - Natural, Effective, and Multipurpose

100% POLYSORBATE 80 ( Solubilizer ) is a compound produced from ethylene oxide, sorbitol and lauric acid; FOOD & COSMETIC GRADE; Ingredient : 100% Polysorbate Oil. It is commonly used as a wetting agent in flavored mouth drops to spread the feeling of other ingredients such as mint flavor, but it can also be used in food as a flavoring ingredient. The Polysorbate ingredients help other ingredients to dissolve in a solvent in which they would not normally dissolve. They also help to form emulsions by reducing the surface tension of the substances to be emulsified. Used in a variety of products including skin fresheners, skin care products, skin cleansing products, makeup bases and foundations, shampoos, permanent waves and fragrance powders. Polysorbate 80 is used to mix heavier oils, such as sunflower oil, olive oil, argan oil, etc.

Appears to be a good product

Used to dissolve medication with very low water solubility when preparing liquid oral medication for our dog. Very little (0.05%) goes a long way. This was important to keep the solid medicine from settling. If I couldn't do it myself, I'd have to spend a small fortune to have a human pharmacy do it.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • Doubtful

As described, this product is 100% pure and food safe. However, after I bought it, I looked at the safety data sheet and the "Regulatory Information" section says "WARNING! This product contains a chemical known to cause cancer." Note to seller: Please put this in the description so customers know what they are buying. I'll try mine now that I'll try If you're making your own skincare products, you definitely need to check MSDS more often, but hey, if you're not worried about that risk, this is

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Infuriates

Does as intended: it may leak!

I used this for bath bombs and a soda bar. It really helps to incorporate the oils and mica into the water rather than pooling at the water's surface. I took the star off because it came out like it was leaking despite the lid and gasket being tight. The packaging it came in was very oily and the whole bottle was also very oily. But overall I'm not upset. 😌

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • No paint needed

Ideal for making facial cleansing oil.

Best for making facial cleansing oil (DIY on YouTube). You save a lot of money by making your own which are very easy and quick to make. This takes about 2 minutes. Facial oil gets ridiculously expensive, $30-$50 for 150-200ml, while facial cleansing oil can be made for $20 for 1000ml. I gave my friend 400ml and he is very happy with the results. This is the first step in the dual cleansing Korean skincare routine. He's almost 60 but has no wrinkles, no fine lines, no botox, no facelift…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • I will add later

What you need is fast.

I need this for my skincare business (Camillebearbeauty) and I need it fast. Much quicker than waiting for my usual suppliers. Great quality, works great!

Pros
  • Same as all before
Cons
  • Neutral

This is not food grade polysorbate The manufacturer lies

This is not food grade polysorbate The manufacturer lies. LABEL & All photos clearly indicate cosmetic quality only. Humans use this internally and can cause cancer due to the peroxides produced during production. I am an aspiring chemist.

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Anything can be added

Works great with bath bombs

I used this to make bath bombs and the mica and oils mix really well. It's quite thick, which also helps the bath bombs stick together as they dry.

Pros
  • Best of all
Cons
  • There are flaws

Ideal for people with sensitive skin.

I'm so happy with this purchase! I have very sensitive skin and find it very difficult to find skin care products to use. Someone suggested I buy some and mix it with a carrier oil to make my own cleanser. I mixed 9 parts jojoba oil with 1 part polysorbate 80 and it was the perfect cleansing oil that washes off easily with water! The best part is my skin is so happy! I will definitely repurchase when I run out and 100% recommend!

Pros
  • Polysorbate ingredients help other ingredients dissolve in a solvent in which they would not normally dissolve. They also help form emulsions by reducing the surface tension of emulsifiable substances
Cons
  • Little things
