Our dogs love dog bells!

We bought our first set of sled bells 17 years ago and our Bloodhound learned to use them quickly and each subsequent generation of dogs taught them to use our new puppies. The poochie bells are nice and loud. My 1.5 year old Bullmastiff girl also uses sleigh bells out front to let us know she needs to come back but they aren't loud enough so I thought I might try a different sleigh bell mounted outside. The first day she learned to use them she kept going in and out just to see if it always…

Thought bells with animal motif

Good bells. The quality is fair. The bells are well attached (so far) and the bottom set of bells is low enough for the puppy to reach. The training I've read is very clear: you want your dog to touch the bells with his NOSE and not reach his paw. Don't grab the dog's paw and don't grab the bells. Too confusing. When your dog knocks on the doorbell, open the door. I would give 3.5 stars if I could. I'm disappointed that the material is similar to tape. I was expecting a more durable canvas…

That's great! - Doors, gates and ramps

We bought these bells before we brought home our 8 week old Golden Retriever puppy. When we brought her home we showed her how to ring the bells when she had to go out and she started using them almost immediately. It literally broke within 2 days! The bells have been abused from swinging and chewing on them during her puppy moments, but they have withstood her abuse perfectly and still look great. I would recommend them to anyone looking to get a puppy! Update 11/30/14: Our pup has been alive…

Skeptical but it worked!

I was very skeptical about these calls. I mean paying $16 for bells but hey I wanted my dog to pee outside instead of inside, it was worth a try and I'm glad I did. My dog didn't touch the bells with his nose, paws or anything else. I just took a hook, hung it right next to the door we use to potty and left it there. Every time we put him on the potty, we said "go to the potty", rang the bell, got him out and said "go to the potty" again. Eventually (2 weeks) he figured out ringing the bell to…

Not as good or as loud as I expected

I used the bell training method 6 years ago when I got my bichon. It was very effective and she knew it right away. Back then I made my own hanging bells using a loud Liberty Bell shaped Christmas bell on the end of a string. I highly recommend this method. After practicing and growing up, she banged the bell so hard that she started chipping the paint on the door, so I replaced it with a Christmas themed door hanger with bells underneath. more than Poochie Bells. This hanger was starting to…
