I had a NYNE vibe that I really liked. I pushed him into the pool and he floated for a few seconds and I pulled him out. It wouldn't turn off and kept talking for hours until the battery died. After a few days I tried charging. Advertised as water repellent. I paid less than $50 for it. Anyway, I liked it so much I ordered this Boost model which looks identical. I will be more careful how close I put it to the pool.

This speaker made a constant static noise (like the speaker exploded) right from the start, so I sent it back. (The return process was easy and free.) The sound would probably be great if it weren't for the static (and that annoyingly loud voice telling you to turn the device on or off)! Also, there's no power cord in the kit for charging, but who doesn't have a million of them lying around?! I had high expectations based on the reviews, but was sadly disappointed.

I bought this speaker for my office for some background music. It is very high quality and the sound is great. But when you turn it on and it announces that it's connected or disconnected, it's so loud that there's no way to turn its volume down! Everyone in my office (and possibly the next office) can hear when I turn it on, when I connect, and when I turn it off. I need a small pillow to smother him so as not to disturb my colleagues.

Don't buy this if you intend to use it in public. The sound quality is excellent. But if you need a speaker for the office or other people, it turns on and off every time, which is often because the timeout function is short. It has a full voice talking about BLUETOOTH MODE! BLUETOOTH CONNECTION SUCCESSFUL! Then DEACTIVATE! It's loud enough that I can hear co-workers laughing and yelling for "turning off the power" in 3 offices. My family loves this speaker! It's used more than any of our other Bluetooth speakers because the sound and battery life are great! The sound is significantly better than the Bose Soundlink II, and the fact that it's waterproof makes it the top choice in our house (my teenage kids don't use any other speakers anymore). This unit has excellent sound quality, deep bass, no clipping or distortion. Actually I was a bit upset when I found out the power is 6 watts per speaker and I have Aomais that are 10 watts per speaker which I am very happy with. However, after turning this little gem on, I was amazed at how clear and transparent the highs and mids are, while maintaining a frequency response that should be below 50Hz anyway.
