Great gadget. I wish I had known that earlier. I inherited a small netbook without a backlit keyboard and this is the perfect way for me to see what I'm doing when the lights are off. Great that it has an on/off button so I don't have to unplug it to turn it off. I also like that there are two brightness settings. Highly recommended!

I recently had to buy a used laptop for my husband. The keyboard is not backlit. He is visually impaired and found it very difficult to see the buttons. This USB reading lamp is perfect. It is very efficient and has excellent performance. And the price was very reasonable. I may order more for friends who can really benefit from this USB reading lamp.

All the pros: Biggest plus is the on/off switch so it's not always on when left underwater. I use a battery-operated laptop reading lamp that has two brightness levels with good illumination thanks to night and emergency lighting with power supplies. I ordered several of these lamps as gifts for people who don't have a backlit laptop keyboard. The ones I used myself seem to be well made. I like the two settings and most importantly the gooseneck keeps the light in place allowing the laptop lid to close without hitting the lamp. I think you can use them anywhere there is a USB plug!

Unlike my previous flashlight, this one is lightweight so won't bend the USB connector I had to fix. The 2 stage light works really well, but I have a caveat: the gooseneck cable needs to be about 3-4 inches longer. On a typical 15-inch computer with a numeric keypad, the light source can't be positioned over the center of the keyboard, causing it to cast more shadows than some people would like.
